If an individual who you have spoken with leaks any information about your product after being in a discussion with you about it, an NDA allows you to bring legal action upon them before they are able to make a profit from your idea. Although copycats will be quick to profit from the success of your product (this is an inevitable truth), an NDA allows you protection in the form of money from those who leaked any information publicly without your express permission.
